Filming at NTFN: Documentary “After the Escape”

The Protestant Church Radio of Lower Saxony-Bremen (ekn) interviewed us in Hanover for the documentary "After the Flight". An excerpt from the interview with Amira Sultan, psychological psychotherapist and head of the PSZ Hanover branch, was published by rnd (Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland).

The documentary focuses on personal stories of flight and arrival, as well as the question of what support refugees need after arriving in Germany – especially when they suffer from the consequences of war, persecution and flight.

In this interview, Amira Sultan , a psychological psychotherapist and head of the PSZ Hannover site, provides insights into the work of the psychosocial center. She explains the psychological burdens many refugees face upon arrival and how trauma-informed psychosocial and psychotherapeutic support can contribute to promoting stability, security, and social participation.

Our staff in the NTFN's psychosocial centers support refugees in processing the consequences of traumatic experiences and settling in Germany. This documentary aims to highlight the challenges this journey entails – and how professional support can make a significant contribution to a successful arrival.
