NTFN Conference: “Suicidality from a Transcultural Perspective” on September 11, 2026 in Hanover
We invite you to the next conference of NTFN Psychosocial Centers gGmbH:
Suicidality from a transcultural perspective – Challenges and perspectives for action in the context of displacement and migration
Conference on September 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 16 p.m.
in cooperation with the Hanover Region and the DGPPN
Location: House of the Region, Hildesheimer Straße 18, 30169 Hannover
How can suicidality be appropriately understood and addressed in a counseling context? The conference offers a forum for in-depth professional development, interdisciplinary exchange, and reflection on one's own coping strategies when dealing with suicidality – particularly against the backdrop of a diverse society shaped by migration and displacement. The target audience includes volunteers and professionals working in healthcare, refugee services, or addiction support.
In addition to academic presentations and a panel discussion, participants can expect practical workshops tailored to the realities of consulting work for professionals. The event concludes with a reading that complements the professional exchange with a personal account of experiences.
Speakers include Maria Sundvall (psychiatrist, Karolinska Institute / Stockholm), Diana Kloppenburg (senior consultant, KRH Psychiatry Wunstorf) and Dr. Mechthild Wenk-Ansohn (psychotherapist).
The complete program schedule can be found here and at www.ntfn.de. The conference fee is €85; you can register at https://ntfn.de/fortbildung/#veranstaltungen . Places are limited.
